John Perry
John is Senior Director at BLDA. With a career spanning over forty years in the high-end residential market, he has worked on projects in the UK, Europe, America and Canada on commissions up to £50,000,000.
A graduate of the University of Bath, he is also now a visiting lecturer at the School of Architecture. Employing a vast wealth of experience, John brings his expertise to clients who include major London estates, development companies, family wealth offices, insurance companies, private individuals and London boroughs. His meticulous work has seen him achieve planning and listed building consents for new buildings and refurbishments in both city centres and at major rural estates.
These projects include the award-winning listed apartment building Oceanic House in Pall Mall, and UK Property Award winner 24 St James’s Square London SW1, as well as the development of low carbon emission housing across the UK, marrying technology specifications with low-energy requirements. John finds working on Listed Buildings highly rewarding and enjoys envisioning a building’s new potential with an ambitious and imaginative approach. Attentive to the finest details, and with decades of expertise, John takes pride in understanding his clients and their requirements to deliver architecture that exceeds their greatest expectations.
From John’s early career in Canada designing buildings for the Cree Eskimo population in northern Ontario, via an international competition win in San Diego to delivering the highest quality architecture in Central London he thrives on new learning and the continual development of BLDA. John brings his experience as an expert witness to architectural and construction matters.
